CDIA at Boston University is committed to providing you with a world-class education. They are up-to-date on the technologies and methods being used in their professions to provide real-world, relevant instruction.

We’ve shaped the CDIA curriculum to reflect the real-world needs of our students’ chosen professions. Through intensive, hands-on training, we’re committed to transforming the way students learn about filmmaking, photography, animation, graphic design and audio production, just as digital technology has transformed what’s possible in these media. With these new digital tools, students can explode the boundaries of creative expression, finding new and exciting ways of telling stories, expressing dreams and sharing passions.

ADVANTAGES

To make your learning relevant and professional, you’ll use the same equipment the professionals use: Apple G5 computers with color corrected displays, Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite, Adobe Lightroom, Apple Final Cut Pro, and other professional software applications, Epson inkjet printers, and ProFoto lighting equipment. Along with your own digital SLR, you will have access to leading-edge Canon and Nikon digital camera lenses, extensive grip and studio-support accessories, and the latest in studio and location lighting.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

Cutting-edge digital darkroom training teaches you the skills necessary to efficiently color correct, retouch, manage and print your photographs at the highest professional level. Special training in web, database management, business practices and creative process workshops rounds out your education. You’ll learn the skills you need to develop a professional portfolio and tackle the everyday aspects of running a professional photography business.

FINANCIAL AID

The Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts offers a no interest deferred tuition plan to allow payment in four equal installments. Twenty-five percent of the tuition is due at registration, with remaining payments due at prearranged intervals during the program. A $300.00 processing fee will be assessed upon registration.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are available.

We are accredited through Boston University’s College of Communications.

  • Tuition Costs Are Rising At Unprecedented Rates

    The headline says it all.  Tuition costs have escalated to the point where students are demonstrating.  In fact, it's not unusual for a student to graduate from school hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

    This makes it imperative to spend some time choosing the right school to help you achieve your goals.  Sadly, in this age of hyper-inflated tuition costs, a college degree does not guarantee a job, much less a career.

    One strategy that is often overlooked when choosing a school is to talk to people who are successful in the career you want to pursue.  If you don't know anyone in your chosen field, you can often find much of this valuable information online.

    The more entrepreneurial individual might go so far as to enroll in the "University of Hard Knocks" and just go for it.  The reasoning is simple: he can start his career behind the wheel of a Bentley, instead of owing his college what a Bentley costs by the time he graduates.

    We're by no means advocating dropping out of school, or not pursuing an education.  However, we are advocating that you look before you leap.
