DESCRIPTION
In a hands-on approach, Cinematography majors are taught to visualize a movie while working with the Director and Art Department provoke an emotional response of the audience – the essence of why people go to see films.
At CFS you will get your hands on a wide variety of cameras including motion picture film and the Red 4K camera system. By working with other disciplines, a Cinematography major explores a wide range of filmmaking gaining skills in dramatic narrative, documentary filmmaking and the latest in green-screen effects photography.
ADVANTAGES
The CFS main facility is a 25,000 square foot building. The main studio, a 4000 square foot sound stage, includes three Thompson BTS digital cameras with Canon studio lenses, Teleprompters, and Vinten MK V heads with tern type pedestals. At one end of the studio a cyclorama is available for green screen photography. A $300,000 Desisti lighting grid controlled by an INSight Lighting Board hangs over the entire stage.

CERTIFICATIONS
In the creation of the Regis BFA, full compliance with NASAD accreditation requirements was built into the curriculum. (NASAD, or National Association of Schools of Art and Design, is the most widely recognized accrediting body for Film Schools) As NASAD requires programs to be in operation at least one year before it evaluates a program, NASAD accreditation is planned for the 2010-11 school year.
