DESCRIPTION
With over 18 years of experience training massage therapists; Arizona School of Massage Therapy (ASMT) is a great place to begin your career in massage therapy. Founding and managed by professional massage therapists, ASMT is focused on providing hands-on, career-based education to prospective massage therapists. Having graduated over 1,800 students in 2004, Arizona School of Massage Therapy was able to place 97% of them in massage-related work fields.
And that’s just the beginning! ASMT is an educational institution with a singular focus…to train and place qualified massage therapists. The school realizes that its reputation is determined by the success and reputations of graduates from ASMT. And if you make a decision to attend ASMT and work hard you could begin your career in as little as seven months.
ADVANTAGES
ASMT created the Career Services Department to serve students and graduates of the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in any and all massage related career assistance. All of the services offered to students and graduates are lifelong. From your first job to your last in the industry, whether you need help tomorrow or ten years from now, we’re here to help you succeed.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
Within the framework of the Professional Massage Therapy Program, students will learn light energy applications as well as structural massage therapy modalities. Both Eastern and Western theory and techniques are taught and students will understand how to treat specific pain and dysfunction. The coursework includes Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology to insure that students are well trained as health practitioners. Additionally, the program teaches and encourages a holistic approach to health and healing.
FINANCIAL AID
Because ASMT is nationally accredited, the school is eligible to participate in Federal Title IV Student Financial Assistance programs. Consequently, students will be able to apply for a variety of financial assistance including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Stafford Loans and Federal PLUS Loans along with ASMT’s Career Financial Services Plan.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are available.
CERTIFICATIONS
The Arizona School of Massage Therapy is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). This is critical information when considering massage schools. Not all massage schools can meet this level of third-party certification and strict educational standards.
SUMMARY
The Arizona School of Massage Therapy does an exceptional job of teaching students to translate their massage skills into a successful business or career enterprise. The Professional Development course includes lessons about beginning and managing a massage therapy business, personal presentation, advertising, resume writing, job interviewing skills and other key components of career management. Students also complete Clinical Internship so they will be familiar with the environment and the activities of a massage therapy practice.
