DESCRIPTION

Massage is a growing field within the health care industry. More and more doctors and patients are seeing the value in this ancient, respected, and effective form of healing, so demand for qualified massage therapists will continue to grow. McCann makes sure students have the proper training in all aspects of massage. Here is a look at the areas in which Massage Therapy students are trained: introduction to massage, Swedish massage, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology and somatic psychology.

In addition, students will be trained in energy based modalities, special populations, law, business, and ethics, career development and career management, general education requirements (college English, math, psychology), and a student clinic.

ADVANTAGES

McCann’s faculty is comprised of dedicated and knowledgeable teachers. They are also professionals in the fields in which they teach. This allows students to learn from those who have actual experience and to gain insight into their future careers.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

Massage therapy can either be a full-time career or a secondary source of income. Most Pennsylvania massage therapists are self-employed. They typically own a business of their own or work on an independent contractor basis. Many graduates of McCann’s Pennsylvania massage therapy program have also found employment at the offices of chiropractors and doctors; health and beauty salons and spas; nursing homes; fitness and recreational centers; and hotels.

All students are encouraged to meet with our school’s Financial Aid department in order to determine financial aid qualifications. At that time, our Financial Aid Officer will help the student to complete our school’s necessary forms.

  • Tuition Costs Are Rising At Unprecedented Rates

    http://www.schoolsforme.net

The headline says it all.  Tuition costs have escalated to the point where students are demonstrating.  In fact, it's not unusual for a student to graduate from school hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

This makes it imperative to spend some time choosing the right school to help you achieve your goals.  Sadly, in this age of hyper-inflated tuition costs, a college degree does not guarantee a job, much less a career.

One strategy that is often overlooked when choosing a school is to talk to people who are successful in the career you want to pursue.  If you don't know anyone in your chosen field, you can often find much of this valuable information online.

The more entrepreneurial individual might go so far as to enroll in the "University of Hard Knocks" and just go for it.  The reasoning is simple: he can start his career behind the wheel of a Bentley, instead of owing his college what a Bentley costs by the time he graduates.

We're by no means advocating dropping out of school, or not pursuing an education.  However, we are advocating that you look before you leap.

The MBA in the corner office, fresh out of business school with a six-figure paycheck, is a standard trope of Corporate America. Every incoming student has heard rags-to-riches tales of that gilded certification leading to giant paychecks and even bigger bonuses. But how often do these MBA fairy tales actually come true? According to new research: not as often as you think.Read more »
