DESCRIPTION

There is only a single Massage Therapy course offered through Southeastern Institute, although course-starting times vary to offer flexibility to students. All curriculums is meant to provide students with a comprehensive education to get them prepared to work in the field. This means that in addition to the clinical skills of massage, students get training in career management development, communication, and business.

The coursework moves through a series of steps designed for beginners with no prior knowledge in the field. It begins with basic massage principles and moves through different skills and techniques. Students are also expected to pass through a core curriculum of anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, neuromuscular therapy, and clinical practices. This clinical work encompasses at least 90 hours and offers real-world training under faculty supervision.

ADVANTAGES

It is the policy of Southeastern Institute’s Student Services Department to assist students in finding a position upon graduation. Prior to, and after graduation, the Student Services Department advises students in career development skills and assist the students in finding employment in their chosen career field. In order to retain placement privileges, students are required to provide a current resume and to maintain satisfactory attendance.

SUMMARY

Massage Therapy is being used as a means of treating painful ailments, decompressing tired and over-worked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports injuries, and promoting general health. Massage therapists can specialize in over 80 different types of massage, called modalities. Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, and neuromuscular massage are just a few of the many approaches to massage therapy offered at Southeastern Institute.

    The headline says it all.  Tuition costs have escalated to the point where students are demonstrating.  In fact, it's not unusual for a student to graduate from school hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

    This makes it imperative to spend some time choosing the right school to help you achieve your goals.  Sadly, in this age of hyper-inflated tuition costs, a college degree does not guarantee a job, much less a career.

    One strategy that is often overlooked when choosing a school is to talk to people who are successful in the career you want to pursue.  If you don't know anyone in your chosen field, you can often find much of this valuable information online.

    We're by no means advocating dropping out of school, or not pursuing an education.  However, we are advocating that you look before you leap.
