DESCRIPTION

Do you dream about being on Project Runway? Maui CC’s hands-on Fashion Technology program provides comprehensive training in apparel production and fashion design so you’ll have what it takes to stand out as a designer. Many graduates go on to make their own products and start there own companies.

Many local boutiques go out of their way to carry designs from local artists. If you are creative, enjoy working with your hands, and have a love for fashion, then Maui CC’s Fashion Technology program may be just for you.

ADVANTAGES

Students in Maui CC’s Electronic and Engineering program now have access to a Supercomputer thanks to a gift from IBM. We are the only community college in Hawaii to have this technology available to students.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

Maui CC was the winner of the national 2008 Bellwether Award in the workforce development category. Maui CC was recognized for our efforts related to sustainability and workforce development. Maui CC partners with many Maui businesses to provide internships and job placement for our students.

  • Tuition Costs Are Rising At Unprecedented Rates

    The headline says it all.  Tuition costs have escalated to the point where students are demonstrating.  In fact, it's not unusual for a student to graduate from school hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

    This makes it imperative to spend some time choosing the right school to help you achieve your goals.  Sadly, in this age of hyper-inflated tuition costs, a college degree does not guarantee a job, much less a career.

    One strategy that is often overlooked when choosing a school is to talk to people who are successful in the career you want to pursue.  If you don't know anyone in your chosen field, you can often find much of this valuable information online.

    The more entrepreneurial individual might go so far as to enroll in the "University of Hard Knocks" and just go for it.  The reasoning is simple: he can start his career behind the wheel of a Bentley, instead of owing his college what a Bentley costs by the time he graduates.

    We're by no means advocating dropping out of school, or not pursuing an education.  However, we are advocating that you look before you leap.
