DESCRIPTION

Do you think creatively and possess attention to detail, along with computer and technical knowledge? As you sit and play video games, possibly for hours on end, do you think you want to acquire the skills to design the very video games you are playing? Then you should consider enrolling in the Game Art Bachelor Degree program at Westwood College. This is where you will develop the ability to apply knowledge of art and animation techniques to a career in the game and software industry.

The focus of the program is on both game art and game design with emphasis on traditional artistry, 3D modeling, and animation. You will take courses in Game Development, Image Editing for Games, Digital Illustration, 3D Animation, and more. You will be able to produce 3D animation according to traditional animation theory and create textures for use in a 3D environment.

ADVANTAGES

In our program, you’ll develop the skills to apply core knowledge of art and animation techniques to the game and interactive software industry. We emphasize traditional 2D artistry, 3D modeling and animation, while you also learn how to apply critical thinking, logic, communications and problem-solving skills in managing challenges that occur in a game development environment.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

When you graduate, you’ll be ready to take on an entry-level position in the game art industry, such as a 3D character modeler, lead artist, quality assurance game tester or a graphic designer.

FINANCIAL AID

While the primary responsibility for meeting the costs of education rests with individual students and their families, many student finance resources are available to assist those students who, without such aid, would be unable to attend Westwood.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are available.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Tuition Costs Are Rising At Unprecedented Rates

    http://www.schoolsforme.net

The headline says it all.  Tuition costs have escalated to the point where students are demonstrating.  In fact, it's not unusual for a student to graduate from school hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.

This makes it imperative to spend some time choosing the right school to help you achieve your goals.  Sadly, in this age of hyper-inflated tuition costs, a college degree does not guarantee a job, much less a career.

One strategy that is often overlooked when choosing a school is to talk to people who are successful in the career you want to pursue.  If you don't know anyone in your chosen field, you can often find much of this valuable information online.

The more entrepreneurial individual might go so far as to enroll in the "University of Hard Knocks" and just go for it.  The reasoning is simple: he can start his career behind the wheel of a Bentley, instead of owing his college what a Bentley costs by the time he graduates.

We're by no means advocating dropping out of school, or not pursuing an education.  However, we are advocating that you look before you leap.

The MBA in the corner office, fresh out of business school with a six-figure paycheck, is a standard trope of Corporate America. Every incoming student has heard rags-to-riches tales of that gilded certification leading to giant paychecks and even bigger bonuses. But how often do these MBA fairy tales actually come true? According to new research: not as often as you think.Read more »
